Steelers Officially Sign RB DeAngelo Williams To A Two-Year, $4M Deal

The Steelers officially announced the signing of DeAngelo Williams to a two-year contract on Friday.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Steelers are, in fact, signing former Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams to a contract.

According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, free agent RB DeAngelo Williams is is still at the Steelers’ facility on Friday, and it appears as though they a deal will be reached.

  • ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported earlier in the week that Williams was scheduled to visit the Steelers on Friday.

The Steelers could use a complimentary back to Le’Veon Bell, but there is some question regarding Williams’ ability moving forward.

Williams, 31, was released by the Panthers in a move that freed up $733,333 in available cap space.

In 2014, Williams ran for 219 yards on 63 carries (3.5 YPC) to go along with five receptions for 44 yards receiving over the course of six games.
