Steelers David DeCastro To Have MRI For Torn MCL

Adam Schefter updated the situation regarding Steelers rookie David DeCastro.

Apparently, his MRI revealed that he has a dislocated his right kneecap and has a tore MCL. There also appears to be a torn patellar tendon. Although many would expect the rookie to be out for the season, the Steelers are unsure if they’ll end up ruling him out for the rest of the season.

NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports that Steelers rookie G David DeCastro will have an MRI today after suffering an injury last night.

DeCastro lasted 6 plays during Saturday night’s game in which the Steelers won 38-7 over the Bills before having to be carted off the field. The team is still unsure whether the rookie simply tore his MCL or ACL.

In case its a torn MCL, DeCastro would miss half the season versus a full season had he torn his ACL. Either way, this is not a good situation for the Steelers.
