Steelers Give Troy Polamalu Extension

NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora reports that the Pittsburgh Steelers have re-signed S Troy Polamalu to a three-year extension worth roughly $9 million annually.

If those numbers end up being correct, Polamalu will be the highest paid safety in the NFL. Pittsburgh ensured that he’ll be roaming their secondary until 2014.

Polamalu has dealt with some pretty serious injuries in the last few years as he’s had both knee and Achilles injuries. The fact that the Steelers still gave him a record deal shows their not concerned about any lingering issue that he may have.
