Steelers Hosted OL Stefen Wisniewski For A Visit

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Steelers recently hosted free agent OL Stefen Wisniewski for a visit this week.

Pittsburgh also brought in G Geoff Schwartz this week for a visit, so they’re clearly taking a look at available interior offensive lineman.

There hasn’t been much buzz regarding Wisniewski since the free agent market opened over three weeks ago. The Browns came up as a potential option before free agency, but there hasn’t been much regarding this idea since.

Jaguars GM David Caldwell said previously that they aren’t closing the door on re-signing Wisniewski, so that could also be an option.

Wisniewski, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Raiders back in 2011. After playing out his rookie contract, he wound up signing just a one-year contract with the Jaguars after find less interest than many anticipated.

In 2015, Wisniewski appeared in all 16 games for the Jaguars and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 19 center of 39 qualifying players.

We had him featured in our Best Available Free Agents list.
