Steelers Hosting Veteran CB Keenan Lewis For Visit

Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the Steelers are hosting free agent CB Keenan Lewis for a visit on Saturday.

Bouchette admits that the Steelers may not sign Lewis to a contract, but it appears as though he’s at least a consideration for them.

Lewis, 30, is a former third-round pick of the Steelers back in 2009. He spent four years in Pittsburgh before signing a five-year, $25.5 million contract with the Saints in 2013.

New Orleans cut him loose last year in a move that freed up $2.75 million in available cap space.

In 2015, Lewis was limited to appearing in six games and recording six tackles, no interceptions and two pass defenses. Unfortunately, Lewis wound up sitting out the entire 2016 season.
