Steelers LB Sean Spence’s Career Could Be Coming To An End

Steelers LBs coach Keith Butler mentioned that it would be “miraculous” if last year’s third-round pick Sean Spence was able to continue his career in the NFL, via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Spence, 22, suffered a terrible knee injury last season. He torn both his ACL and LCL while dislocating the knee, so there are some legitimate questions as to whether or not he’ll even be the same. A report from back in February mentioned that Spence was dealing with damage to his peroneal nerve, which located behind his knee.

Steelers GM Kevin Colbert actually referred to it as “unknown injury.

Butler adds that the team will keep him on their reserve list for the 2013 season in case he’s able to recover in time for 2014.
