Steelers OC Todd Haley Considered A “Strong Candidate” For Dolphins’ HC Job

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley is a “strong candidate” for the Miami Dolphins head-coaching job.

According to La Canfora, Haley has received some “strong support” from Hall of Fame coach Bill Parcells, who has been an influential figure in the Dolphins’ organization. La Canfora adds that Haley is believed to have interest in the job.

Interim HC Dan Campbell had a good showing in his first game since taking over for Joe Philbin, but La Canfora reports that there have been internal discussions regarding potential permanent replacements including Haley.

Even though Haley’s name has come up, La Canfora mentions that owner Stephen Ross has his sights set on some prominent names such as Saints HC Sean Payton.

Although, you would have to think they would consider bringing Campbell back in 2016 if the Dolphins rebound and get back into playoff contention.

Haley previously coached the Kansas City Chiefs for three seasons and led them to a 19 and 26 record (42.2%) and a playoff appearence before he was fired back in 2011. Since then, Haley has helped the Steelers reshape their offense into one of the most productive units in the NFL.
