Steelers OLB Jarvis Jones (I.R.) Returns To Practice, Opens 3-Week To Be Activated

Steelers OLB Jarvis Jones (wrist, injured reserve) returned to practice on Monday, which opens a three-week window for the team to active him, per Bob Labriola.

Pittsburgh can wait until December 15 before removing him from the short-term injured reserve list, but assuming he’s healthy enough to play, it seems likely that they will do so sooner than the three weeks.

Jones suffered a wrist injury close to two months ago and later underwent surgery, so it was clear that his was a pretty severe injury.

Jones, 25, was taken in the first-round of last year’s NFL draft and showed some signs of improvement before getting hurt. He still has another two years remaining on his four-year, $8,705,502 rookie contract beyond this season, so there is plenty of time for him prove his worth before the Steelers have to decide on his fifth-year option in 2016.

So far this season, Jones has recorded 14 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble over the course of three games.
