Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger was carted to the locker room on Sunday with what appears to be a serious left knee injury.

Roethlisberger attempted to step up in the pocket, but was clipped on his left knee and immediately went down in pain. His teammates were clearly concerned about the situation, and veteran QB Michael Vick has already taken over for him.

Based on the video posted online, former NFL physician David Chao seems to think Big Ben may have an MCL injury, but this is of course hoping that his ACL is in tact.

According to Chao, if Roethlisberger has a “significant MCL” injury, he’s looking at a timetable of two weeks minimum.

Roethlisberger, 33, signed a five-year, $99 million contract extensions that included $64 million guaranteed with the Steelers back in March.

Coming in to today’s game, Roethlisberger had thrown for 720 yards while completing 72.3 percent of his passes to go along with four touchdowns and an interception.

We’ll provide more updates regarding Roethlisberger’s injury as the news is available.
