Steelers RB James Conner “Unlikely” To Play In Week 15

According to Ian Rapoport, Steelers RB James Conner is “unlikely” to play in Week 15’s game against the Patriots but should be “good to go” next week.

  • Pittsburgh has officially downgraded Conner to doubtful.

The Steelers will now turn to Stevan Ridley and Jaylen Samuels to handle the workload while Conner is out of the lineup.

Last week, Rapoport also reported there’s a chance Conner could sit out another week to allow his ankle to heal after missing Week 14, so this does not come as a big surprise.

Conner, 23, is a former third-round pick of the Steelers back in 2017. He’s in the second year of his four-year, $3.09 million contract that included a $706,288 signing bonus and he stands to make base salaries of $555,000 and $645,000 over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2018, Conner has appeared in 12 games for the Steelers and rushed for 909 yards on 201 carries (4.5 YPC) to go along with 52 receptions for 467 yards receiving and 13 touchdowns.
