Steelers Re-Signing QB Bruce Gradkowski To A One-Year Deal

Alex Marvez reports that the Steelers are re-signing veteran QB Bruce Gradkowski to a contract on Monday.

  • Jeremy Fowler reports that Gradkowski receives a one-year deal from Pittsburgh.
  • According to Marvez, Gradkowski will compete with Landry Jones for the Steelers’ backup quarterback job.

Gradkowski, 33, is a former sixth-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2006. He lasted two years in Tampa Bay before he waived and later claimed by the Rams.

Gradkowski had stints with the browns, Raiders and Bengals before signing a three-year contract with the Steelers back in March of 2013.

Last year, Gradkowski appeared in one game for the Steelers, but didn’t attempt a single throw. His 2015 season ended with him being placed on season-ending injured reserve with finger and shoulder injuries.
