Steelers Release RB Brandon Brown-Dukes From PS, Sign DB Brandon Dixon

The Pittsburgh Steelers officially signed DB Brandon Dixon to their practice squad on Wednesday and released RB Brandon Brown-Dukes from the unit.

The Steelers’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. DL Johnny Maxey Jr
  2. WR Demarcus Ayers
  3. DE Caushaud Lyons
  4. LB Travis Feeney
  5. DB Jacob Hagen
  6. RB Karlos Williams
  7. OT Matt Feiler
  8. OT Keavon Milton
  9. WR Marcus Tucker
  10. RB Dreamius Smith
  11. DB Brandon Dixon

Brown-Dukes, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of Mercyhurst back in May. He was, unfortunately, waived coming out of the preseason but was added to the Steelers’ practice squad at the start of the season.

Since then, Brown-Dukes has been on and off of the Steelers’ taxi squad.

During the preseason, Brown-Dukes appeared in three games for the Steelers and rushed for seven yards on six carries to go along with two receptions for 15 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
