Steelers Release WR Tyler Murphy To Make Room For RB Le’Veon Bell

The Pittsburgh Steelers released WR Tyler Murphy on Wednesday to make room for RB Le’Veon Bell, who has been reinstated from his suspension, per Ed Bouchette.

Murphy, 23, signed on with the Steelers back in as an undrafted free agent out of Boston College. He’s in the first year of his four-year, $1.579 million rookie contract included a $4,500 signing bonus.

There’s a chance he could be added to the team’s practice squad in the coming days if he clears waivers.

This season, Murphy has appeared in two games and caught one pass for 16 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
