Steelers Restructuring Ben Roethlisberger & James Harrison’s Contracts Next?

 

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that two more Steelers are willing to help with the team’s current cap issues by restructuring their contracts. The agents for Ben Roethlisberger and  James Harrison have confirmed that they will restructure their contracts if the team needs them to.

Pittsburgh has been aggressively shedding salary commitments in the last week in attempt to get under the projected before the March 13th deadline. Yesterday, we posted some reports that the Steelers may have to cut some more big names like Casey Hampton and James Farrior but that’s by no means a guarantee at this point. The fact that Mike Wallace is a restricted free agent, means that they’ll need enough of available cash to match any contract he’s offered from other team’s.
