Steelers Rookie Alameda Ta’amu Arrested

Karen Kane of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that Steelers rookie NT Alameda Ta’amu was arrested Sunday morning and faces felony and misdemeanor charges.

Ta’amu, taken in the fourth-round of this year’s draft, fleed police, injured a woman, damaged several vehicles, resisted arrest, attempted to escape, and drove while intoxicated. Multiple officers chased Ta’amu down and had to use two sets of handcuffs to restrain him.

Ta’amu is now being charged with fleeing police, aggravated assault while driving drunk and three counts of aggravated assault plus 10 misdemeanors charges.

That’s a pretty eventful morning for the Steelers rookie who has yet to play in a single NFL game.
