Steelers Sign CB Kevin White & TE Jake Phillips, Cut Two

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced that they’ve signed TE Jake Phillips and CB Kevin White to contracts on Wednesdays and waived TE Mandel Dixon and WR Shakim Phillips with injury designations.

Should Dixon and Phillips clear waivers tomorrow, he would revert to the team’s injured reserve list.

White just recently worked out for the Saints, but left the session without a contract from the team.

White, 24, wound up signing on with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of TCU back in May of last year. He was unfortunately among their roster cuts, but later signed on to the Cardinals’ practice squad.

Arizona elected to bring White back on a future/reserve contract before cutting him loose after this year’s draft.

During his four-year college career, White recorded 146 tackles, one sack, three fumble recoveries, three interceptions and 19 pass defenses.
