Steelers Sign CB Mike Hilton To One-Year Extension

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Tuesday that they’ve signed CB Mike Hilton to a one-year contract extension.

Hilton, 23, originally signed on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi back in 2016. He was waived after a few months in Jacksonville and later signed on to the Patriots’ practice squad.

The Steelers later signed Hilton and brought him back on a futures deal last January.

Hilton was in line to be an exclusive rights free agent in the coming months.

In 2017, Hilton appeared in all 16 games for the Steelers and recorded 64 tackles, four sacks, two interceptions, a forced fumble and six pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 27 cornerback out of 12 qualifying players.
