Steelers Sign CFL DE Shawn Lemon

The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed former Calgary Stampeders DE Shawn Lemon to a contract, according to David Canter.

Scott Mitchell of the Calgary Sun reported earlier in the day that Lemon was set to sign with the Steelers.

The Stampeders just released him from his contract in order to allow him to pursue a career in the NFL.

Lemon, 26, recorded 31 tackles, 13 sacks, an interception and tied the CFL single-season record with eight forced fumbles during the 2014 season.

He’ll obviously have to compete for a job in training camp this summer.
