Steelers Sign DL Tyson Alualu To Two-Year, $6M Deal

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports that the Steelers are signing DL Tyson Alualu to a two-year contract on Tuesday.

  • According to Ian Rapoport, Alualu receives a two-year, $6 million deal from the Steelers.

The Steelers brought Alualu in for a visit on Monday and it appears as though the two sides were able to hammer out a contract.

Alualu, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2010. He played out his rookie contract with the Jaguars before returning to the team on a two-year, $6,000,000 contract back in 2015.

Alualu was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2016, Alualu appeared in 14 games for the Jaguars and recorded 37 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 74 interior defender out of 127 qualifying players.
