Steelers Sign LB Farrington Huguenin To Futures Deal

The Pittsburgh Steelers officially signed LBĀ Farrington Huguenin to a future/reserve contract on Friday.

Huguenin becomes the 12th player to sign a future/reserve contract with the Steelers since their season ended. The full list includes:

  12. LBĀ Farrington Huguenin

Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and during training camp.

Huguenin, 24, wound up signing on with the Dolphins back in May after going undrafted out of Kentucky. He signed a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Dolphins and is set to make a base salary of $450,000 for the 2016 season.

The Dolphins waivedĀ HugueninĀ with an injury designationĀ during the preseason before eventually cutting him loose with a settlement a week later.

During his college career,Ā Huguenin recorded 97 tackles, five tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and three pass defenses.
