Steelers Sign LB L.J. Fort To Practice Squad, Cut LB Matt Galambos

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Wednesday that they’ve signed LB L.J. Fort to their practice squad and released LB Matt Galambos from the unit.

The Steelers’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. C Kyle Friend
  2. TE Jake McGee
  3. RB Fitzgerald Toussaint (Exception)
  4. WR Marcus Tucker
  5. WR Justin Thomas
  6. LB L.J. Fort
  7. S Jacob Hagen
  8. DE Lavon Hooks
  9. LB Farrington Huguenin
  10. WR Justin Thomas

Fort, 26, originally signed on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Iowa back in 2012. He last just over a year in Cleveland before he was among their final roster cuts.

Fort had brief stints with the Seahawks, Bengals, and Patriots before he was claimed off of waivers by the Steelers during the 2015 preseason. Fort was on and off of their active roster last year before he was cut loose on Tuesday.

This season, Fort has appeared in one game and recorded two tackles and no sacks for the Steelers.
