Steelers Sign OT Jake Rodgers To Practice Squad, Release WR Justin Thomas

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Monday that they’ve signed OT Jake Rodgers to their practice squad and released WR Justin Thomas from the unit.

The Steelers’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. C Kyle Friend
  2. TE Jake McGee
  3. RB Fitzgerald Toussaint
  4. WR Marcus Tucker
  5. DE Lavon Hooks
  6. LB Farrington Huguenin
  7. CB Dashaun Phillips
  8. LB Keith Kelsey
  9. S Jordan Dangerfield
  10. OT Jake Rodgers

Rodgers, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Falcons back in May of 2015. He was, unfortunately, unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but later signed on to the Giants’ practice squad at the start of the 2015 season.

After a few years with the Giants, Rodgers signed on with the Steelers this past May and had been on and off of their practice squad the past few months before a recent stint with the Chargers.

Rodgers has yet to appear in an NFL game.
