Steelers Sign TE Bucky Hodges & OT Kyle Meadows, Cut Two

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Thursday that they’ve signed TE Bucky Hodges and OT Kyle Meadows to contracts and waived LB Darnell Leslie and TE Ryan Malleck (injured).

Hodges, 22, is a former sixth-round of the Vikings back in 2017. He signed a four-year, $2.55-million contract with the Vikings and was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the agreement when Minnesota waived him with an injury designation coming out of the preseason.

Hodgers was later waived from the Vikings injured reserve midseason before signing on to the Panthers’ practice squad. Unfortunately, Carolina released him in October and it took until this past April for him to sign on with the Jets.

The Jets just waived Hodges last week.

During his college career at Virginia Tech, Hodges caught 133 passes for 1,747 yards receiving and 20 touchdowns to go along with 89 rushing and 21 total touchdowns over the course of 39 games.
