Steelers Signing WR Cobi Hamilton To One-Year Deal

According to Jeremy Fowler, Steelers signed WR Cobi Hamilton to a one-year deal.

Hamilton, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Bengals back 2013. He was, unfortunately, unable to make the team coming out of the preseason during his rookie season but was later signed to the team’s practice squad.

Hamilton briefly played for the Eagles in 2014 before returning to Bengals mid-season and later being claimed off of waivers by the Dolphins. Miami elected to waive Hamilton him at the start of last year.

The Panthers signed him to a future/reserve contract in January only to waive him this summer. Hamilton later signed on with the Steelers before being cut and later added to their practice squad at the start of the regular season.

Pittsburgh promoted Hamilton to their active roster back in October and he was able to finish the season on the team’s 53-man roster.

In 2016, Hamilton appeared in 11 games for the Steelers and recorded 17 receptions for 234 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He also accumulated 83 yards as a kickoff return specialist. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 79 overall wide receiver out of 115 qualifying players.
