Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports that the Steelers are waiving CB B.W. Webb, as they work to get their roster down to 53 players by tomorrow’s deadline.

Webb, 25, is in third year of his four-year, $2.603 million rookie contract that included a $443,380 signing bonus. He stands to make a base salary of $585,000 for the 2015 season.

In 2014, Webb appeared in 10 games for the Steelers, but recorded just two tackles.

Aaron Wilson reports that the Pittsburgh Steelers have waived LB L.J. Fort.

  • According to Wilson, Fort is a candidate to be added to the Steelers’ practice squad if he clears waivers.

Fort, 25, originally signed on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Iowa back in 2012. He last just over a year in Cleveland before he was among their final roster cuts.

Since then, Fort has played for the Broncos and Seahawks before signing a future/reserve contract with the Bengals back in early January. Unfortunately, the Bengals waived him right before this year’s NFL Draft.

The Patriots signed him to a contract a few weeks ago, but the Steelers later claimed him off of waivers.

In 2014, Fort appeared in one game, but didn’t record a single statistic.
