Steelers Waive QB Tajh Boyd, Sign WR Jarrod West

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Tuesday that they have placed QB Tajh Boyd on waivers and signed WR Jarrod West to their roster, per Burt Lauten.

Boyd was taken the sixth round of last year’s NFL draft by the New York Jets. However, he was unable to make the team’s final 53-man roster and was released just before the start of the season.

He later signed a contract with the Florida Blacktips of the FXFL.

Since being released by the Jets, Boyd has worked out for Bills, Giants, and Redskins, before joining the Steelers back in March.

During his four-year career at Clemson, Boyd throw for 11,904 yards and completed 64.3 percent of his passes to go along with 107 touchdowns and 39 interceptions.
