Steelers Waive Three Players Including Former Second-Round OT Mike Adams

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Thursday that they’ve placed three players on waivers including OT Mike Adams.

Adams was waived with the failed physical designation. The Steelers also cut K Ty Long and RB Abou Toure.

Adams, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Steelers back in 2012. He was in the final year of his contract and stands to make a base salary of $873,225 for the 2016 season.

He would have been an unrestricted free agent this in 2016, but his contract tolled after he ended up spending the entire 2015 season on the PUP list. Adams underwent back surgery, which lead to him being placed on the PUP list.

In 2014, Adam appeared in all 16 games for the Steelers.
