Steelers Waive WR Brelan Chancellor & LS Brandon Hartson

The Pittsburgh Steelers waived WR Brelan Chancellor and LS Brandon Hartson on Friday, according to the NFL transactions release.

Chancellor, 22, signed on with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of North Texas back in May of last year. He unfortunately wasn’t able to make the Chargers’ final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason and was placed on waivers.

The Steelers later signed Chancellor to a future/reserve contract at the end of the 2014 season.

Harton, 25, originally signed on with the Bears as a free agency back in 2013. However, he lasted just a few weeks with the team before he was waived as the start of the regular season.

The Chiefs signed Hartson to a future/reserve contract in December of last year, only to place him on waivers back in April. Hartson wound up being claimed off of waivers by the Steelers the following day.
