Steelers Waived LB L.J. Fort

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced that they have waived LB L.J. Fort on Saturday to make room for TE Ladarius Green being activated from the physically unable to perform list.

Fort, 26, originally signed on with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Iowa back in 2012. He last just over a year in Cleveland before he was among their final roster cuts.

Since then, Fort has played for the Broncos and Seahawks before signing a future/reserve contract with the Bengals. Unfortunately, the Bengals waived him right before the 2015 NFL Draft.

The Patriots later signed him to a contract, but he was later waived and claimed by the Steelers. Pittsburgh cut Fort loose at the start of the season before signing him to their practice squad a day later.

The Steelers decided to promote Fort to their active roster back in December of last year. Pittsburgh cut him loose this past weekend.

In 2016, Fort has appeared in seven games for the Steelers and recorded four total tackles during that time.
