Steelers Worked Out TE Billy Brown

According to Aaron Wilson, the Pittsburgh Steelers brought in free-agent TE Billy Brown for a workout on Wednesday.

Brown, 25, signed on with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Shepherd back in May of last year. He was among the team’s final roster cuts coming out of the preseason and was signed to their practice squad one day later.

The Eagles signed him, once again, during the offseason but cut him loose in September and signed him to their practice squad once passing through waivers unclaimed.

Philadelphia cut him from their practice squad last week. He has yet to appear in an NFL game.

During his senior year at Shepherd, Brown recorded 99 receptions for 1,580 yards, 22 touchdowns, and received first-team All-MEC honors.
