Steve Johnson Seeking $7.5 Million A Season?

WGR 550 Buffalo reports that Buffalo Bills WR Stevie Johnson was seeking a 4-5 year contract with an average of $7.5 million per year.

The negotiations took place earlier in the season and the Bills were reported to be $2 million apart from Johnson’s demands. Talks broke down and the most recent reports suggested that Bills have not talked with Johnson’s representation about a new contract.

Johnson’s agent mentioned that he’s “more than willing to do a discounted deal with the Bills because of his loyalty to the organization” and his “love for the city of Buffalo.”

The Bills could use their franchise tag on Johnson and buy some more time to negotiate a long-term deal. If Johnson’s agent is right about his willingness to offer the Bills a discount, it makes sense for them to work something out.
