Still A Chance Giants Could Re-Sign Veteran G John Jerry

Mike Garafolo notes that the Giants press release regarding the signing of OL D.J. Fluker makes it seem like G John Jerry could still return to the team.

According to Jordan Raanan, there has been ongoing “good communication” between the Giants and Jerry’s representatives for weeks now.

New York gave Fluker just a one-year, $3 million contract, which hardly guarantees him a starting role. Fluker has some position versatility, which means he could either play guard or right tackle for them, depending on how things go this summer.

Bringing Jerry back would give the Giants some solid offensive line depth, which never hurts.

Jerry, 30, is a former third-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2010. He played out his rookie contract with the Dolphins before signing a one-year agreement with the Giants in March of 2015.

Jerry returned to the Giants again last year on another one-year contract.

In 2016, Jerry appeared in all 16 games for the Giants and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 33 guard out of 72 qualifying players.
