Eagles Agree To Terms With QB Dennis Dixon

Update:

Dennis Dixon‘s agent, Jeff Sperbeck, tweets that the quarterback has agreed to terms with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Several reports have indicated that Dixon’s deal is a two-year contract.

Dixon played under Kelly while at Oregon, so there’s a pretty obvious connection here. It makes sense to see Kelly bring in someone who’s familiar with his offensive system, even if it’s unlikely that he would be their long-term solution at quarterback.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Nick Foles now that Philadelphia has re-signed Michael Vick and brought in another quarterback with a similar skill set.

Update:

Geoff Mosher is reporting on Twitter that the Philadelphia Eagles have reached out to Baltimore Ravens practice squad quarterback Dennis Dixon, and the two parties are now talking.

———-

Geoff Mosher of CSN Philly reports that there are “strong indications” that the Eagles are prepared to pursue signing QB Dennis Dixon who is currently on the Ravens practice squad.

Philadelphia would have to wait until after the season to try to lure Dixon away from the Ravens.

Mosher writes that “all signs point to [Chip] Kelly having his man by next week.”
