Adam Caplan of ESPN mentions that veteran CB Champ Bailey could be playing his last game for the Broncos as he has a roster bonus of $1 million due on March 15.

Bailey, 35, will be entering the final year of his four-year, $43 million contract and is set to make $9 million for the 2014 season. On top of that, he’ll count $10 million against the team’s salary cap in a year when they have a number of key players to address.

Denver has guys like WR Demaryius Thomas and TE Julius Thomas entering the final years of their respective contracts while WR Eric Decker, CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and DE Shaun Phillips all set to test the open market.

Bailey is in the midst of the worst season of his 15-year-career and was limited to playing just five games in 2013. Retirement seems like it could be an option for Bailey, but we’ll have to see what the Broncos elect to do with his roster bonus first.
