Teams Calling Bears About Veteran G Josh Sitton

Ian Rapoport reports that NFL teams have been calling the Bears about the availability of veteran G Josh Sitton ahead of the trade deadline.

It certainly can’t hurt to see if the Bears are willing to move a solid interior offensive lineman, but he’s under contract for next year, so I’m sure they have no plans to give him away.

Sitton, 31, is a former fourth-round pick of the Packers back in 2008. He played eight years for the Packers before they released at the start of last year.

Sitton later signed a three-year, $21.75 million contract that included $10 million with the Bears. He stands to make base salaries of $4.65 million and $7.4 million over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Sitton has appeared in seven games for the Bears and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 9  guard out of 78 qualifying players.
