Teams Contacting Jets About Potential Trade For QB Bryce Petty

According to Ian Rapoport, NFL teams have been contacting the Jets about trading back up QB Bryce Petty.

No surprise here, but Rapoport says the Jets are open to moving Petty after they used No. 3 overall pick on Sam Darnold last night.

Recent reports have said that Petty and Christian Hackenberg are both trade/release candidates for the Jets this offseason. If New York was able to get any draft compensation for one or both of them, you’d have to think they’d make the deal.

As of now, the Jets have Josh McCown, Teddy Bridgewater, Darnold, Petty and Hackenberg on their roster at quarterback.

Petty, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Jets back in 2015. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $2,833,696 contract and is set to make a base salary of $705,000 for the 2018 season.

In 2017, Petty appeared in four games and threw for 544 yards while completing 49.1 percent of his passes to go along with one touchdown and three interceptions.
