Teams Could Have Interest In Trading Up For Buffalo LB Khalil Mack

Albert Breer of the NFL Network mentions that the interest from NFL teams in possibly trading up for South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney has also created a better market for Buffalo LB Khalil Mack.

According to Breer, if a team were to miss out on Clowney, they could still be motivated to trade up for Mack, considering that there is a perceived drop off after those two pass-rushers.

If true, this is the best news the Rams could hear given that they currently hold No. 2 overall pick and are believed to be willing to trade out of that spot.

The first team mentioned in any trade scenario within the top-five picks is the Atlanta Falcons.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Falcons are “exploring” the possibility of moving up within the top-four picks.

Mack would be a great player to add to their defense, even though it would cost them some valuable draft picks to pull this deal off.

The Lions are another mentioned as a team to keep an eye on in regards to trades as they have shown a lot of interest in the best available draft prospects this year.

  • Mack has visited with the Lions, Buccaneers, Falcons, Browns, Vikings, Rams and Texans in recent weeks.

Last year, Mack totaled 100 tackle — 19 of which were for a loss — 10.5 sacks, three interceptions, five forced fumbles and two defensive touchdowns.

We have the Jaguars selecting Mack at No. 3 overall in our most recent 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
