Teams Showing Interest In S Taylor Mays, Return To Bengals Could Be An Option

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that NFL teamsĀ have begun expressing interest in veteran S Taylor Mays, who will have served his eight-game suspension as of next Monday.

According to Rapoport, the Bengals have kept an open mind in regards to Mays and could have interest in bringing him back after his suspension is up.

Mays, 25, is a former second-round pick of the 49ers back in 2010. He lasted just over year in San Francisco before he was traded to the Bengals.Ā After four years with the Bengals, Mays signed a one-year contract with the Raiders last year.

The Bengals elected to re-sign him to aĀ one-year, $840,000 contract back in March only to cut him looseĀ in July shortly before news of his additional suspension surfaced.

In 2015, Mays appeared in 14 games and recorded 26 tackles and five pass defenses for the Raiders.Ā Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 63 safetyĀ out of 88 qualifying players.
