Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, citing a league source, reports that QB Teddy Bridgewater has passed his physical for the Jets and the deal will be announced at some point in the near future.

Many have wondered what’s going on with Bridgewater and the Jets, considering that they’ve yet to announce the signing that was agreed to early last week, even though they’ve announced a number of signings since then.

Beyond that, the Jets re-signed Josh McCown and just agreed to a major trade with the Colts to move to No. 3 overall and put themselves in position to land one of the top-three quarterback prospects.

Bridgewater has worked his way back from a major knee injury, so there was at least some question about him passing a physical for another team. However, it appears as though everything checked out and we’ll get an opportunity to see him play in a Jets’ uniform this summer.

Reports have said that Bridgewater will receive a one-year deal worth up to $15M from the Jets.

Bridgewater, 25, is a former first-round pick of the Vikings back in 2014. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $6,849,502 rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $1,354,023 for the 2017 season.

The Vikings declined to pick up Bridgewater’s fifth-year option that would have cost them $12,198,000 million for the 2018 season.

In 2017, Bridgewater appeared in one game for the Vikings and was 0-2 passing and threw an interception.
