Tennessee WR Cordarrelle Patterson Dropping Out Of Round 1?

Lance Zierlein reports that a league source has informed him that Tennessee WR Cordarrelle Patterson drop out of the first round.

Patterson has not only been considered to be a first-round talent for months now, but many have him listed as the No. 1 receiver in this year’s draft class. Mike Mayock recently mentioned that he would take Patterson over any receiver in the draft.

With that being said, there are some serious concerns regarding Patterson’s overall game. Zierlein points to “learning issues” and adds that poor interviews could also play a role in him falling down draft boards.

The Rams, Steelers and Texans could all be targeting a receiver in the first-round, but there’s a chance that West Virginia WR Tavon Austin goes ahead of him.

Here are some other draft notes provided by Zierlein:

  • LSU S Eric Reid’s stock is “on the rise” and he could be taken in round one.
  • LSU DE Sam Montgomery could fall out of the first three rounds of the draft.
  • Zierlein’s source added that he has Missouri DL Sheldon Richardson ahead of Florida DL Sharrif Floyd.

We have Patterson going to the Vikings at No. 23 overall in our recently updated 2013 NFL Mock Draft.
