Ravens Active OLB Terrell Suggs From PUP List

The Baltimore Ravens announced that OLB Terrell Suggs has been activated from the activated physically unable to perform list and will join the team for practice on Wednesday.

Suggs is still on pace to return in November, so he will most likely participate on a very limited basis this week. Baltimore will have to add him to their active roster in the next three weeks, but it’s obviously great news seeing as they’ve already lost CB Lardarius Webb and MLB Ray Lewis for the season.

According to a source, Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs is expected to activated from the physically unable to perform list this week and will practice, but on a very limited basis, per Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun.

“It’s going to take time,” said Wilson’s source. “There’s no reason to do anything risky with a guy this important. You have to think about the big picture with him.”

It isn’t expected that the 2011 Defensive Player of the Year will play anytime soon as the Ravens will want to see how his heel responds. Suggs timetable to return to the field is still likely to be sometime in November. Suggs led the Ravens with 14 sacks and seven forced fumbles last season.
