Pro Football Talk reports that Terrelle Pryor‘s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, is informing NFL teams that his client intends to change his positions to receiver.
- Albert Breer reports that teams have already expressed interest in Pryor as a receiver.
This comes after Pryor’s latest failed attempt to play quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals.
Pryor will need to clear waivers before signing with a team of his choosing. However, is sounds like someone could be tempted to place a claim on him now that he’s willing to change positions.
It was just a month ago that Pryor mentioned: “If I can’t play quarterback, I can’t play football — I’m pretty much done.”
Pryor told Jerry Brewer of the Seattle Times that he “[doesn’t] know how to catch,” so it appears as though there could be a serious learning curve for him as a receiver in the NFL.
“I don’t know how to catch. I don’t know how to run the ball as a running back,” Pryor said. “I’ve been a quarterback my whole life.”
Pryor, 25, was taken by the Oakland Raiders in the third round of the 2011 supplemental draft. He lasted a little over three years in Oakland before he was traded to the Seahawks for a seventh round pick that ultimately became Jonathan Dowling.
Kansas City later signed Pryor to a one-year contract back in January, but his stay was obviously short lived.
Pryor appeared in 11 games during the 2013 season and completed 57.4 percent of his passes for 1,798 yards, seven touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
