Tests Confirm Sam Bradford Has Bone Bruise In Knee, But No Structural Damage

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, Vikings QB Sam Bradford remains week to week following a second opinion he received this week from Dr. James Andrews, who was able to confirm that there was no structural damage to his knee.

Sources tell Pelissero that the examination really just confirmed what they already believed, which is that Bradford is dealing with a bone bruise.

Bradford will need to rest his knee and allow it to heal in order for him to return.

There was some optimism earlier in the week that Bradford may be able to return, but their forced to start Case Keenum at quarterback for the second straight week.

Bradford, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Rams back in 2010. He spent four years with the Rams before he was traded to the Eagles in 2015. After Teddy Bridgewater sustained a serious knee injury last year, the Eagles traded him to the Vikings for draft compensation.

Bradford is currently in the final year of his two-year, $36 million contract that included $36 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $13 million for the 2017 season.

This season, Bradford has appeared in one game and thrown for 346 yards while completing 84.4 percent of his passes to go along with three touchdowns and no interceptions.

We’ll have more regarding Bradford as the news is available.
