Texans Activate TE Ryan Griffin From I.R. & Waive C Eric Kush

The Houston Texans have activated TE Ryan Griffin from the injured reserve list on Sunday, according to Aaron Wilson.

  • The Texans also placed OL Eric Kush on waivers to make room for Griffin.

Griffin, 25, has two years remaining on his four-year rookie contract that included a $78,680 signing bonus. He stands to make base salaries of $585,000 and $675,000 over the next two years.

Houston placed him on injured reserve with the designation to return after the first week of the season.

In 2014, Griffin appeared in all 16 games for the Texans and recorded 10 receptions for 91 yards receiving and one touchdown.

Kush, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2013. He spent over two years in Kansas City and appeared in three games for the Chiefs before he was waived at the start of the regular season.

After a brief stint with the Buccaneers, the Texans signed Kush to a contract a few weeks ago.
