  • C Nick Martin, S Kurtis Drummond, K Ka’imi Fairbairn (reserve/injured)

Houston also placed S Lonnie Ballentine on the physically unable to perform list.

Howard played three seasons at Purdue, but elected to enter the 2016 supplemental draft due to academic reasons. Reports from a month ago mentioned that Howard was planning to transfer from Purdue.

The Texans wound up signing him to a contract shortly after this year’s supplemental draft.

During his college career, Howard recorded 47 tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss including three sacks, a fumble recovery and four pass defenses.
