Texans Brought In Free Agent S Stevie Brown For A Visit

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that free agent S Stevie Brown took a visit to Houston on Tuesday to meet with the Texans.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter previously reported that Brown was mulling offers from five-six teams and is expected to make a decision at some point in the near future.

According to Schefter, Brown had interest from the Giants, Cowboys, Falcons, Raiders, and Titans. However, reports later refuted that the Titans and Cowboys were among the interested teams.

Brown, 27, is a former seventh round pick of the Raiders back in 2010. He has since played for the Panthers and Colts before joining the Giants as an unrestricted free agent in 2012.

Free agency got under way over a month ago, but there hasn’t been a lot of buzz regarding Brown, even after things have slowed down in recent weeks.

In 2014, Brown appeared in all 16 games for the Giants last season and recorded 38 tackles, one sack, and a pass defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 47 safety out of 87 qualifying players.
