Texans CB Kevin Johnson Expected To Miss 4-6 Weeks With Knee Sprain

Texans CB Kevin Johnson suffered a grade 2 knee sprain during Thursday’s win over the Bengals and is now expected to be out 4-6 weeks, according to Mark Berman.

Johnson, 25, is a former first-round pick of the Texans back in 2015. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $10.04 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $1,348,582 and $1,805,373 over the final two years of the agreement.

The Texans will have to decide whether to pick up his fifth-option next April.

In 2017, Johnson has appeared in two games and recorded nine tackles and no interceptions or pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 79 cornerback out of 83 qualifying players.
