Texans Claim OL Conor Boffeli & OT Anthony Dima Off Waivers

The Houston Texans were awarded OL Conor Boffeli off waivers from the Minnesota Vikings and Anthony Dima from the Browns, per the NFL transaction release.

Both players were signed by their respective former teams as undrafted free agents, only to be released shortly thereafter.

Boffeli, a University of Iowa product, projects as an interior lineman, capable of playing center or guard, and best suited for a zone blocking scheme.

Dima is a small school product, coming out of the University of Massachusetts.  He was a preseason Outland Trophy watch list member however, so he was likely on the radar of many scouts.  He was a three-year starter for UMass, after transferring from Hofstra.

Houston is clearly looking for some competition along the offensive line.  They likely improved the starting unit as well when they selected UCLA G Xavier Su’a-Filo in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
