Texans Claim OT Oday Aboushi Off Waivers From Jets

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Texans have claimed OT Oday Aboushi off of waivers from the Jets on Wednesday.

Aboushi served his one-game suspension for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy and was reinstated on Monday. However, he was placed on waivers by the Jets Tuesday.

Aboushi, 24, is in the third year of his four-year, $2.359 million rookie contract that included a $199,000 signing bonus. He stands to make base salaries of $585,000 and $675,000 over the next two years.

In 2014, Aboushi was active for 15 games and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 43 guard out of 78 qualifying players.
