Texans Cut Four Players

The Houston Texans announced Monday that they’ve waived four players including TE Zach Conque, CB Bryce Jones, TE Ryan Malleck and OLB Gimel President.

Malleck, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Virginia Tech back in 2016. He was unfortunately waived with an injury designation toward the end of the preseason and later reverted to the Giants’ injured reserve list.

New York elected to cut Malleck loose a few days later and he didn’t catch on with another team during the 2016 season. After brief stints with the Steelers and Ravens, the Texans signed him to a contract in November and he finished out the year in Houston.

In 2017, Malleck appeared in two games for the Texans and caught one pass for three yards and no touchdowns.
